The following Monday, we made our move. A group of us, united by shared frustration, approached HR with our concerns. We laid out the issues: the increased workload, the dismissive attitudes, the lack of support.
HR listened, taking notes, nodding at appropriate moments. It was a small victory, just being heard.
Later, as I returned to my desk, I felt a strange mix of emotions. The situation wasn’t resolved, but there was a sense of camaraderie now, a feeling that we were all in this together.
As the day ended, I packed up my things, feeling lighter than I had in days.
When I stepped outside, the sky was turning shades of pink and orange, a promise of a new day.
But the resolution was still a ways off, and the tension hadn’t fully dissipated. There was still much to be done, many conversations to be had.
